The drone hovered quietly above a scene shaped by love! Below, the wedding guests stood there in the warm sun, forming a perfect heart around the bride and groom, a living embrace made by the people who cherish them most. At the center stood the couple, close together, as if the world paused just for them. From above, the heart seemed to pulse with warmth, every outline kissed by the golden Italian light. In that single captured moment, love surrounded love. A simple gesture, made extraordinary from the skies, an image that feels like a timeless symbol of unity, held forever in one breathtaking photograph.
On a sunlit Italian hillside, the green grass swayed gently beneath their feet. The bride and groom stood together, hearts racing, as the soft hum of the countryside wrapped around them. Then, in a sudden burst, colored powders exploded into the air, reds, blues, and many other colors swirling as fireworks above the rolling hills. Time seemed to hold its breath. In that instant, the landscape, the sky, and their love became one, a living painting of joy, captured forever.
Usually, this shot ends with the groom flying high, a playful photo where my style is famous for. But on this warm afternoon in the Italian countryside, something different happened. The bride looked at her new husband’s friends, grinned, and said, “My turn.” Before anyone could protest, she was already in the air, fearless, radiant, reaching toward the sky! The moment froze for a split second, the golden light, the laughter, the music in the background, and that’s when I pressed the shutter. It wasn’t just a photo of celebration. It was a photo of courage, joy, and love that quite literally lifted everyone’s spirits. And that’s the image that won me the award, thanks to a bride who dared to fly.
In a haze of drifting smoke, the couple leans in and seals their moment with a kiss. The sun peeks through right between them, bursting into a perfect star as if blessing the scene. And then….life happens. Two little boys stroll by, pinching their noses with dramatic gestures, turning this dreamy, romantic moment into something wonderfully real and unexpectedly funny. A perfect reminder that love is magical, but never without a touch of humor.
Sometimes love is so overwhelming, you just have to be launched into the air. At this wedding, the groom quite literally took flight—launched sky-high by his friends, with his bride watching in delight. The moment lasted only a split second, but it tells a whole story: friendship, laughter, spontaneity, and pure wedding-day energy. With this image, I won a Wedwar Award, because it shows that weddings are about more than just tears of joy—they’re also about those moments when you almost defy gravity ;).
